Whatever It Takes And Then Some December 2015 winners

Lorri Sandmire, environmental services manager at Life Care Center of Port Townsend, Washington, visited a resident who had been recently hospitalized. One of the resident’s favorite comfort items was a stuffed donkey, which Sandmire brought to her. Hospital staff shared that the resident immediately perked up during Sandmire’s visit.

Johnson back home with her dog thanks to rehab at Port Townsend

Rose Johnson is glad to be back home with her dog, Bella.

Back in April 2015, Johnson, 92, was walking Bella near her home when she fell and fractured her left hip. After surgery, she was in a lot of pain and needed rehabilitation in order to be able to live at home again. She couldn’t get in and out of bed, get dressed or walk by herself.
